Rapide S boot not locking/soft closing
Discussion
A bit of a pain this as the car will then not lock:
Occasionally the boot on my car will not close fully, specifically the soft close function does not kick in. I am not sure there is any fault as by juggling the doors or ignition (with the ignition on the car knows the boot is open) it does eventually operate, but I have not found a surefire sequence to do it. I have wondered if the battery charger cable connected to the boot charge point is somehow upsetting it, but once it occurs cable attached or not makes no difference and when I get it to operate properly again I can connect the cable back in position and the boot still closes.
Anybody any ideas?
Thanks!

My 2017 Rapide S has a similar quirk. With charger plugged in and tail slightly open it won’t soft close when I pull the charger. So now when I go out to the garage I open and close any door, then lift the hatch and pull the cord. Somehow that sequence wakes up the sleeping door module and the soft close will work. One of the mysteries of science as to why but it always works.
