I’m currently enjoying my DB11 so much that I’m using it pretty much every day; station run, popping to the shop, ferrying the kids about. Basically any excuse to potter around in her.

The thing is, I’m starting to get really annoyed by the brakes squeaking; it’s always a low speed when in traffic or coming to a slow stop. The pads and discs are in good condition and I’d say have been replaced a few thousand miles ago. I’ve tried high speed harsh braking to scrub them but it’s had no effect. I’ve had a few cars so this over the years (usually 911s) and have solved the problem with a strip down, clean up then copper grease on the back of the pads. I seem to remember others mentioning this with their cars and that the above hasn’t worked. Any recommendations for resolving this annoyance?

Had this with my dbs years ago ,the strip down clean thing worked for about 1 week and then the squeak returned .

Mine squeak, no matter what, came back from dealer after service and I thought it had gone, but it comes back, slow speeds, and after they have warmed up

Mine squeak but I’m told all carbon ceramic brakes squeak unless you get some heat in them.
So slow moving traffic and town use, they do squeak but I believe the DB11 came with steel discs?

I've had my 2018 DB11 since April. When I acquired it, brake pads were needed both front and back.

I did the brake pad replacement myself. I noticed whoever owned the car before me must have had the squeaky brakes too BC all four calipers were loaded and packed with grease. So much so, I spent considerable time getting calipers and piston caps cleaned using brake degreaser, etc.

When I installed the new pads I used a product that has always worked for me (probably 20 years now). It is this product which is not actually a grease but more an adhesive.

I have about 800 to 1000 miles on the car now since the brake pads replacement and absolutely NO squeaks.

Here is a quick pic of one rear brake you can see the "red" on the pad backing as it meets the caliper pistons. Eventually the RED will discolor and not be noticed, but this has worked for me on my DB11.

I’m really not sure that’s true , the dbs is the only car I have had with ceramics that squeaked.
The ones on my vantage don’t (yet ?) as an example from the same manufacturer .

A super common issue, one of my contacts has said to me that that official procedure sometimes works, sometimes does not.

Please, please make sure that you are not using any acid wheel cleaners as it will make the situation worse, and gives AM a get out of jail free card (the service bulletin even says so).

Fundamentally a lot of it is yes performance brakes, but also down to my contacts statement "inconsistent quality control from Brembo".

Taking it out for spirited run and braking heavily does clean them up and in general has stopped my Vantage from squeaking a lot when braking at slower speeds. Going one step further and a particular challenge possibly for some, reasonable consistency of use as mine is pretty much a daily driver, it somehow seems to suffer less.

Thanks for this; sounds like a good solution that will last longer than copper grease.

I remember that all the 911s I’ve had used to squeak until they started fitting a rubber like shim on the back plate and that resolved the issue.

Maybe I’m heavy footed but have never experienced squeaky brakes during the three years had my V12 DB11 or currently with my DBS

I have the sqeaky brake issue on my 2019 Vantage.

If I remember there have been three technical bulletins put out on the DB11 brake issue. There were probably three because the first two didn't work and I'm guessing the third didn't either judging from how many posts I see on the subject.

For me, my brakes are fine after awash for a little while. They are also fine when they are cold or when they are really hot. It's during the in between daily driving( 90% of the time0 where they squeal terribly when I come to a slow stop. I don't have a fix just saying you are not alone.

I've learned to just live with it. frown

Me neither. My previous DB9 however was a different story

I took mine back to the dealer who sorted it. Not sure which of the three fixes it was - they changed the lubricant for a different spec and smoothed out the disk (not sure what that involved). Anyway squeak disappeared entirely for a few months and then came back in a minor way but was quickly cleared with a few sharp applications of the brake each time. This was on a MY2017 car.
