As one of two of you may know I have been a huge Rapide fan boy. A dream come true car for me over 9 years ago.

They have served me so well - been everywhere in them from Outer Hebrides with the kids, to Portugal and Lake Como with mates etc Have been solidly reliable and my self insurance warranty pot grew to 6 figures! But I just blew it on a non Astonbiggrin! They new toy will really marginalise her and she's going into a mates garage this weekend.

So, even though I have her on Autotrader I am seriously thinking of keeping her because HOW MANY TIMES have we all said 'ohh I wish I hadn't sold' that car you once loved...

So, long game, will it just bottom out in value like a 2005 Vantage or DB9 and stay there or is any appreciation (like a DB5 or Mk1 Escort pleasebiggrin) remotely possible over say 15 years, especially given that there are only 1000 Rapides in UK and that its the last of the NA V12's?

Personally I think it a bit of a long shot but any views welcome.

Thx

Haven’t they already bottomed out?

I guess if you have the space and inclination to spend money as necessary on Insurance and annual maintenance and don’t “ need “ the money as such and are still happy to drive it now and again then why not ?
Personally I don’t see it as investment as such as with 1000 of them it’s not THAT rare.
Would it go up in value though - not sure although difficult to see it dropping much from where it stands now.

I think they will continue down to mid 30 somethings much like DB9 and Vantage so could lose another £10k maybe - cheap as chips for any stunning V12. I wouldn't mind funding here over 10 years further but would like some return over just pure labour of love/moneypit. Maybe its not the right car for that? Hmmm?

I guess you could always keep it for a while and see if your view changes ?
I’ve seen on the other thread what your new toy is - congrats on both the car and the colour !

Cheers mate. She's off to storage today but remains on Autotrader. Maybe the decision will be made for me as I won't let her go for less than a certain figure...

Few Mystic Megs here mind. Tough call!

As said above, 1000 units in uk is hardly rare. Assume £2000 a year to insure, tax and service, plus lets assume they do get to db9 values

£10k reduction plus £2k for every year you keep it.

I think it will be at least 10 years before they start to see uptick (mainly as a few will disappear as they were dailied more than db9etc) i love them also, but its not the most popular VH model.

Only you can answer yr question as its all about how much money you have/need/over what period.
