HI All,

My car is a 2018 DB11 - Adore it !!

I've just noticed a slight whistling noise when I'm driving down the road to my home.

I can hear it better when I'm driving next to the dry stone walls here.

I've googled and don't think it's a wheel bearing issue as it's not humming or grinding.

I bought the car from Newcastle AM in April, so still under the AM warranty, but if it's a quick fix, then I won't bother them.
It's a 2 hour trip from Huddersfield. I know I could probably go to JCT600 in Leeds too.

By the way, I still have the screeching brakes when coming to a stop. I can get rid by hard braking, but it comes back after a day.
Got used to it now, but sometimes really pi##es me off! Actually looking forward to getting new brake pads one day

Any suggestions on the whistling?

Thanks in advance.

Just go to Leeds its a ton closer. Warranty work is warranty work, which dealer you go to does not matter and AM Leeds are good anyway. JCT have temporarily moved anyway whilst the showroom is being upgraded, so they are even closer still to you. They are now just off the Birstall roundabout down the hill from Ikea, so could hardly be any closer to Huddersfield really whilst still maintaining a Leeds postcode!

Hard to say what a whistling is without hearing it for ourselves but my first reaction was as above - Turbos. They usually whistle whereas few other faults or things are what I would call a whistle. Still your MD will be able to say for sure as they will have heard it all before regardless of what it is.

Thanks for your replies Calinours and Adam.

Blimey, I hope it isn't the turbo. I don't think it is, but I'll call Leeds now and get it booked in.

Bye for now!

Blimey, that’s a bit irritating!

I listened again yesterday on the way home and I’ve now decided the sound is a very slight squeaking noise going around and around, so it must be something to do with the wheel. I haven’t hit any pot holes recently, we’ll never actually!

Maybe I’ll spray some STP on the brake discs etc!?
This spray gets rid of the brake screeches for a few days too!

You may have run over Roger Whittaker. Check under the car.

I have just driven home in my new (to me) DB11 and have not noticed any whistling coming from the car.

Whilst you’re about robbo, could you confirm a couple of things:

The aero spoiler - I couldnt see it raise at above the required speed, dealer says its so small you cant see it through the rear view mirror, is that your experience?

In the boot there is no carpet type trim in the upper area underneath where the aero ducts are, just bare metal with gubbins on display?
