Evening- just a quick question, I’ve got a ctek trickle charger that used to use on the Vantage in the boot 12v socket- can I use this on the DB11 also- in the 12v socket under the electric armrest?
I know there’s a magnetic adaptor available, but thought I’d see if it’s possible this way before spending £50 on the adaptor! Thanks a lot

Yes you can. But why have the hassle. This is far better, and has the status LED so you can disconnect and share your CTek charger.

Also saves the issue of driving off with the cord still attached.

I didn't even realize my DB11 had this until I just now looked!

Do you close the trunk/boot (I'm in USA, sorry) with the adapter installed? If so, will it detach without damage if you drive off with the trunk/boot closed?

With the magnetic connector you don’t even to open the trunk , just reach up and press the adapter into place and the magnetic nature holds it in place.
Can be a slight faff the first time but then very easy once you get the knack.
I didn’t try to drive off with it in situ but I think the answer is yes it will simply detach.
With the cable under the door method it definitely doesn’t detach or rather it does when it pulls the cable from the charger itself !
I guess the only disadvantage I found when using the magnetic connector was that backed into the garage I would forget it was connected so resorted to a reminder on the centre console.

Yes, the magnet connector can easily be put in place with the boot closed. There is a bit of a technique as others have stated, but you will get the hang of it in a few seconds.

The magnet will not pull out if you drive off. It will simply
disconnect at the connector plug (or status LED) at the other end of the tail. The magnet attachment will stay in place. I have done it a few times and only notice the tails hanging down when I get where I’m going. It doesn’t seem to do any damage.

Are you serious ? Have you thought about using old chip fat oil in your engine too ?

Especially when there’s one currently on Fleabay, with status LED, starting at £25…

Ha ha yeah fair play, I’ve just bought one having seen the error of my penny pinching ways. Thanks for all the responses
