Hi,

I picked up my new to me V12VS yesterday.. one thing I didn't check was the windscreen washer operation.. and yep, they're not working.

Anyone know which fuse this is? I've looked in the Manual and it only seems to list the headlamp wash fuse..

Cheers!

Reject it and sue somebody .
What did the independent check say ?

Seriously , you should have to faff with fuses when you’ve just purchased the car.

Just incase anyone else stumbles across this thread.. It appears that its fuse 48 in CEM, which is located in the passenger footwell.

This is thread I found the info in : https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/aston-martin/4...

Unfortunately, the fuse is fine which probably means a duff pump or the system is blocked.. Hey ho..

Can you hear the pump running? The washer bottle can fill with sludge over time which can block the pump. If you are handy it is quite a straightforward job to get the pump out of the washer bottle.Cheap replacements are available online - search this forum for details.

Fuse 48 operates a relay for the screen washer can you hear the relay (R7A) click in?, probably located in the CEM.

If not locating the washer pump see:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OvtRoXfwS0

Should really be down to the dealer who sold the car to sort.

My 2014 4.7s washer pump stopped working just before Christmas, fuse fine, relay clicked so ordered the jag alternative part for £108 all in from rimmer brothers and swapped it over, now all good. I couldn’t believe how much rubbish was in the bottom of the washer tank! Picture of the one I took out, John

Thanks all ... really helpful stuff... I'll be back on the case in the morning...
I'll need to enlist a second pair of hands/ears to listen for pumps and relays..

It occurred to me that it might just be the jets that are blocked , so thats the first thing I'll check tomorrow..

Is the same relay used for both headlight and screen washers? I assume it is as they both work on the same button on the end of the stalk..

I think I'd be pretty miffed if they didn't work having only just collected it and would be" returning" it straight away - was this from a Dealer ?
Pics of the new beast though ?

Fuse 48 also provides power to the rear wash on the Vantage Coupe, no other fuse or relay mentioned for the headlight wash.

If I remember headlight wash performs on every 6th windscreen squirt.

I ended up taking it to AM Performance in Macclesfield who very kindly sorted it for me there and then..

As a number of you have asked, it was a private purchase so no come back to the seller.. The car had been looked after really well, by a respected independent (down south) who I spoke to at length about the car.. It has a great history and as a result I decided to forego the PPI.

While it was in at Macclesfield I also got them to check it over and it's been given a clean bill of health.. I even went out on the test Drive with them with the AMDS on my lap smile and got to ask lots of questions.. The guys there were great!

Here's a picture that the seller sent to me...

Very nice indeed. I’m glad you found what you were looking for and good on AM Performance for sorting out your issue. Your car looks familiar to me. I’m fairly sure it was once owned by one of the PH regulars on here. Very well done and welcome back to the V12 club! BRM.

Thanks Minglar... it's taken a long time but I'm finally happy.. Yes it did belong to a PH'er... He saw my 'Unicorn' post and messaged me just before Christmas..
