Pads and discs - front and rear

Hi

Rear pads got about 1/3 left and so will likely need changing within next 12 months depending how much I drive.

What’s the best brakes to get and cost?
Also got a bit of glazing on the front so I been told I need to brake a bit more aggressive to clear it up.

What would be the costs of discs? I may get them changed together

If there are a couple of brands to consider? On my cupra people saying yellow stuff or even Pagid/brembo are ok

On a car that threads on here suggest is highly susceptible to unwanted brake noise I'd probably go OEM myself. Others may be cheaper but if you have to do the job twice, it won't be.

Yeah I’ve seen some mad prices on here for discs at over 2@
K which is a madness.

Pads seem reasonable, GSF have got brembo on there for couple hundred or less depending on coating.

Are there any good oem sites to visit or?

Best pads ive found are porterfield. no dust or squeaking, great performance.

Dont fit ebc yellow, tried some of those, they squeal really bad, worse than the OE Pagids in my experience

Discs then brembo are great for the 4.3 if you have the larger "S" or post MY2012 discs then there are a few options for £1200-1300 (pair) versus the OE cost over £3k (!)

Yeah few are saying Brembo, I would spend on the more expensive ones to get them vented as I like the way they look as well as the apparent performance enhancement.

Yeah I have a squeak on mine now which is real annoying.

If you need a set of rear discs, I have a pair of Brembo discs for a 4.3 that I bought at DAE simply to get me home from Somerset to Staffordshire.

When I got back, I removed them and fitted some two-piece discs.

Are the two piece better? What’s the main difference.

Two-piece are definitely better, as they are lighter (alloy centres) and therefore have better heat management. However, I doubt that I’ll ever feel the difference on the road, so I’d say that 90% of the difference is aesthetic.

Not cheap though - I think I paid about £600-ish
