They do that. It will go away eventually.There's no such thing as an 'emissions service' anyway.
More importantly, did you lose the misfire corrections? Early DB9s will but I hear later ones don't.
No misfire Just needed to replace AC line which requires removing the alternator to get to the compressor so battery needed disconnecting. Once reconnected got that emissions system needs servicing. Do you think it will be okay once I start the car without causing any problems? Regards Craig

I am not sure that you should be asking John critical engineering questions though.
I only mention this, in the best possible taste, because John recently posted his car mechanics CV, outlining his career experience.
I have just checked that my garage is firmly locked. There are two cars in there with carburettors.

Yeah. My car mechanics career ended when I had my first car and bought a Haynes manual to go with it. Many of the sections began with, 'First, remove the gearbox'.
I managed to take the carburettor off and put it back, but that was enough.
I'm not messing about with a V12 beyond checking the oil.

You are generally correct Jon, but in this instance I became uncomfortably familiar with certain aspects of the DB9, or at least a 2007 one. The OP would do well to actually read what I said because he wouldn't know if he had misfires anyway - in fact find me a V12 with none.

This is all very interesting, well not really, but always a better way to start a sentence than, So.
The car says, Emissions service required.

Quite similar to someone telling me, there is no such thing as Father Christmas.
At this point, I am very confused. Cannot both be correct.
Hold on a minute, I have just had a thought. You could both be right.
The car says, Emissions service required.
As a result, the car is taken to an Aston Martin dealer.
It goes in to the workshop, but because there is no such thing as an emissions service, nothing happens, but the technicians are trained to look busy.
The car emerges from the workshop and an invoice is presented to the customer.
£330 plus Value Added Tax £66, plus Aston Tax £330, plus discretionary service charge £33 = £759.
"What can I do you for? You have been. Thank you very much Sir."
Indeed. I learned it because I had exactly the same warning. It appeared after I'd started the car and revved it a bit to impress someone. Foolish of course; the car objected by throwing up the 'emissions service' warning. Therefore (not so) I rang the dealer who told me to turn the ignition on and off a few times and it would go. It didn't, but within a week the car had tired of chastising me for my foolishness and turned the warning off.

If the OP wants peace of mind by all means take it to a dealer and get it on AMDS. They may find other things. Get them to check the misfires, and let us know if you get 24 zeros (12x A and 12x B).

Slightly off topic as I am referring to my wife's Mini Countryman one year old and emission service light appears.
She called Mini stealer and was told to book it in for an emission check all in at £99.
I went into the main menu on the car and found that the emission service was set at 1 year, so I changed to 5 years and she saved £99.
