DB9 weird sound on engine switch off!!!

I'm posting this for a friend who has a 2005 DB9, please watch this short video and listen to the weird noise when he switches off the engine at the end of the video.

That's a curious one.

It's quite a distinctive 'clunk'.

Auto or Manual? Initially I was thinking about something loose in or around the torque-tube but thinking further, I'd probably expect it to be followed by a grinding noise.

How does the fuel system work on these? Could it be the sound of the solenoid cutting the fuel supply? Maybe the mounting has perished, letting the solenoid shift when actuated and knocking something?

Hi, thanks to Paul for adding this for me.

I purchased the car on Sunday.

It's not been used much even though driven daily (12 miles a day)

I have done 200 miles this week and it started on Wednesday.

It's an auto. Initial thoughts were maybe getting some old lazy damper plate springs.

It happens if it's run for 30 seconds or if after a 2 hour trip. No difference if hot or cold

I would be looking at a worn engine mount and the engine re settling when switched off

I'm not doing 12 miles a day. The previous owner did. I've done 200 ish in 3 days. Ctek conditioner is on its way already

Just noticed after going a drive in park I have a bit of a clunking and I'm I go up the revs in park I do get a slight vibration.

The ticking through the bonnet vents is simply the electronic injectors. You need to get it high up to try and locate the clunk, possibly driveshaft support or bearing.

Hi, I think I have narrowed it down to sloppy springs on the drive plate as it has a knocking every now and again when in park. Doesn't seem to affect the driving but it's something that I will need to change at somepoint

Thank you. I suspected the same. I think mine has a whining noise which I think is coming from the torque tube/prop shaft bearing. I’m fitting another on Saturday. I’ll take a look at the drive damper whilst it’s out.
