Indicator issue
Discussion
6 weeks into my ownership and loving it ! However Gaston (the Aston) does like to make us worry on occasion.
His current 'thing' is to occasionally tell me (via the dash) that the LHD indicator bulb needs replacing. We stop, look to check and all ok. We tried the Hazards pr just via the stalk and all seem ok Front Rear and Side.
In addition Gaston likes to play silly buggers with the reverse assist. As in, he doesn't like to tell me if there is anything behind him or not. The Sensor button lights up on the center console, but no beeps. We've tried to test it via the wife being behind whilst i reverse and nothing to warn me, until the thump / bump which wasn't ideal for the rest of the night
It's an My06 4.3 Vantage ....

Do you call your car Gaston to represent Gaydon Aston?
That would distinguish from Naston, which could be the earlier V8 Vantage built at Newport Pagnell.
The sensors in the rear skirt might not be receiving electricity at the correct moment. I don't know why.
Sorry that you backed into you wife.
What a great stunt. "Please stand behind the car darling. The reverse sensors will keep you safe."
Be thankful that you are not dealing with modern cars.
Select reverse and then all that it shows you on a screen, is a video of someone being run over. No help at all. -

Whilst on the subject of humour, here is one.

Condensation .... a little on the front headlights whilst driving at night. Nothing in the day ...
Condensation in the headlights is normal - some people fit venting kits - but the rear units are (supposed to be) sealed and will start to fail if water gets in, throwing up bulb failure warnings. Mine failed its MOT on this last year; luckily I was able to find and fit a s/h unit in time for the retest.Forums | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
