As a newby it’s not easy to navigate through this forum so perhaps I missed some posts…. If so I’m sorry!

My question is about a Rapide, more specific about delamination of the side windows. I’ve seen multiple cars where windows start to delaminate. Cars of about 15 years of age with small spots around edges.

Does anyone know what to expect in progress of this delamination? How serious is this? Replacing all side windows won’t be cheap I guess….

Any idea of experience?

Thanks!!!!

Welcome to the forum. I can't help with Rapide glass but I'm sure someone will be along who can.

Do you have one, or is it a prospective buy?

I think it’s quite common on the cars with double glazing, I think I had it on the small pieces of glass at the leading edge of the front doors on my 2011 Rapide. Chat to a specialist, like Trinity Aston for a sense of scale

Could well be it’s on all double glazed windows. I’ve only experienced it once with a Stratos, that didn’t stop over the years. How long did you own your Rapide and did it get worse over time?

Thanks for your replies by the way!!

I have a little bit on my 2010, seems a bit common on these. It seems with these being build in Austria, they swapped the traditional paint bubbling/corrosion round the door handles, the pillars and other known choice locations for window lamination.

But not like it is progressing I understand? My worst nightmare is if you’ve have to replace them, that is a financial disaster. The car I m looking at is an Austria one, 2011.

Some small spots I can live with but I saw a few examples where the glass was blurred a lot.

How much are new ones.

I can't imagine they're the biggest financial disaster a Rapide could throw up.

If they are genuinely all like that then I guess it's priced in both at the buy and sell stage.

Maybe worth checking how much more an example with new or perfect windows goes for?

Overhere it would buy you a new small car. But I agree, a blown engine or such is worse. But the delaminated windows are reality on this car and the rest I’ll have to discover in the future. That’s why I’m trying to figure out how worse this is while I don’t have endless funds….

Thanks for all your help! Much appreciated!
