Parcel shelf problem

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to repair/replace the material “tab” on the parcel shelf. Mine is frayed and I would like to do something with it, to make it look better. Thanks again in advance for any suggestions.

I had the same issue a few years ago and bought a length of matching tape to replace it. I cannot for the life of me remember how I did it, although I may have employed the services of my wife, who is good with a sewing needle. I do still have tape left over, so if you want some, tell me how much you need (it's probably only a few inches) and I'll put it in the post for you - that's if you want black of course.
