Would you guys please stop into tempting me to get back in VH ownership with a DBS? I am perfectly happy with my 2020 Vantage! There is no sense in owning two Aston Martin at the same time, right?
Really think that gen DBS, DB9 Gt, later V/H era v12/v8 vantages and ofc the Vanquish 310 will go down as "peak" AM, when looking back 20 -30 years from now. DBS that followed is just not quite as perfect visually, and the amg engined cars just loose that little bit of character. I still remembering watching the premiere of casino royale and being like bloody hell wtf is that car.
I think perhaps the best sounding car I've literally ever seen in person was a DBS coupe with a quicksilver, WOW... ! new vanquish does not hold a candle to the n/a v12's.
I keep seeing vanquishes near 100K -130K in the US, hell of a car for that...

But if you have 2 you only do half the mileage on each - you know it makes sense.

Oh yes there is! A small coupe / larger Voltate combination is a wonderful luxury. And if one of them is also manual it saves you needing a third toy to tick that box
It certainly is a lovely car. Is it worth what they are asking for it? Who knows, but Nicholas Mee always tend to ask top money for their stock, although I guess it’s difficult to know what level to pitch it at. I’m actually quite surprised how high the mileage is. But as noted earlier, manual RHD versions of this car are rare and it’s unusual to see one for sale, so my gut feeling is it won’t hang around, even at that price, especially as the weather improves. BRM.
I know of 5 of the UK cars and it seems non have been garage queens. My old car has done just under 30k and hasn’t turned a wheel in nearly 8 years. A mate of mine has one which he purchased in 2017 having done 45k. Again not turned a wheel since he bought it. The Top Gear car IIRC has done over 30k. There is also a black/red car that was sold around 2015 with over 30k miles.
I’m told the owner of my car would accept £200k for it

One more to find.
There is an article on the car in the GG section of PH this morning and the first comment, possibly from the author of the article, is from the same poster we have seen in GG before, who clearly has an issue with AML. I may be wrong but I don’t recall seeing any posts from him in here though. It’s all rather strange. BRM.

Yes I saw your reply LTP. Well done and nice darts as usual my friend, although I think it s highly unlikely you will receive a reply. I think that s at least the third time I ve seen him tell that tale in a GG AM themed thread. It s all rather odd. How does it work with these threads in GG? Are the authors anything to do with PH, or just freelance contributors? The article today contains some basic errors as is often the case in GG.
BRM.
I thought I was being quite nice.
BRM.

But I agree, I don't understand how this section of GG works. At first I thought the whole thing was posted by the first poster, but then realised a PH'er like Wistec1 wouldn't post an eulogy to a Vanquish and then slag off the company in the post immediately below it. But Mr wistec does appear to be quick out of the blocks and is usually the first poster, as he is here, almost as if he is "in the know" or somehow connected to or informed by the original poster. Although, to be honest, having once stumbled into the "Pie and Piston" and having backed away then cleansed my eyes with bleach, these days I rarely stray far from the Aston Martin forum.
