Before I start taking some bits of the car (which I am a bit reluctant to do), I know some people have said about spraying some lubricant, around the mirror itself first.

Where do I do this?

Photos attached.

Would go with some abundant silicon-based lubricant (with the thin sprayer) wherever it can enter the arm mechanism.

Look at this, seems to be a common problem.

It would have been better if he'd demonstrated rather then described how he released the clips.

Then there was the impact of the handle of his ratchet onto the door paint at 8:57 yikes

As above, there is no art or elegance to it. Just squirt it where it hinges and wipe off the excess amount. See if it works straight away. Possibly it might need a gentle helping hand but don’t force it.

Good luck.

Just sprayed in the gaps and wiped off any excess. Mirror now back to working order. Many thanks for the tips.

Awesome. I love a cheap win, especially when it’s one I’ve done myself, lol.

Nice one.
