Hi folks!

Has anyone here on the forum tried modifying their 2. generation Vanquish with the front splitter and rear diffuser from the Vanquish S (MY2018)? I’d be really interested to know if it even works, especially at the rear.

Thx, Matt

Hi Matt,

while the conversion is possible (I've seen a couple of examples on German listing sites), it may not be the best investment. Modified cars are often harder to sell and rarely command a premium price. Given the high conversion costs, you might be better off trading yours in for an original Vanquish S.

Not only that, but it would probably make the car worse in terms of usability. The low front splitter is a right PITA. If it was possible to have the S mechanicals and suspension in a non-S body I'd have bought that.

Guys,

Sorry for my late reply. In general I agree, I like the classic front diffuser as it is. The S-style lip is no option. The front lip sticks out so far that it gets stuck everywhere. I'm just interested in the sporty look of the rear diffuser. It gives the car a sportier stance from the rear.

There was someone here on the forum who modified it. But I couldn't find the post anymore. Other than that, I love this car. For me, it's the best evolution of the VH2 platform.

Matt, what you describe as "2. generation Vanquish" (i.e. 13MY to 18MY) is VH3xxx platform, not VH2. VH2 is Vantage (06MY to 18MY) only.

Thanks, Emilio. My Vanquish is a 2016 model and my CoC says VH1(2), Engine Code AM29. Surprisingly, I thought it would be a VH2 type. But it doesn't matter because I want to keep it anyway. I love the look and feel.

By the way, I ve always been curious about what really changed between the Vanquish VH2 and VH3. The obvious changes are listed in the description front and rear styling updates, intake manifolds, throttle bodies, rear mufflers, and ZF transmission tuning but is there more to it? That would be interesting to know...

I think we're getting popular terminology mixed up with 'platforms'. Emilio says VH2 is a Vantage not a Vanquish, and he knows more than me.

Vanquishes are better separated by generations, ie what they look like. They are completely different cars, just the name is re-used. So you have the first gen Vanquish (2001-2007), second gen (mine and yours) (2012-2018) of which there is an 'S' model you like, and now we have the Gen 3 Vanquish (2024--).
