Astounding service - seatbelt re-webbing by FDTS

Seatbelt on my V8V started to fray, got an advisory last year on the MOT.
Aston wanted £970.16 to fit a replacement.
I removed the belt at the weekend and sent it to this place thttp://www.fdts-seatbelts.co.uk/ to be re-webbed.
I posted it Royal Mail 48hr ay 16:10 on Tuesday. It was delivered to them the following day and I found it returned on my doorstep at 12pm today!
Total cost £60 (plus £4 postage to send it to them).
If only all services could be this fast and efficient!

Awesome group of ladies working in Byfleet. They have repaired at least 15 to 20 seat belts for me and have at least 30 colours of webbing available.
Very professional outfit who reweb all of a certain supermarkets articulated tractor units in a hi viz colour when new so they can be seen wearing them easily on CCTV.
Re-webbing a seat belt just sounds risky, but these girls know exactly what they are doing. Been there years and all are very, very experienced.

The only note of caution I'd add (yes, the usual LTP wet blanket post incoming
) is that seatbelt webbing has various extension (non-elastic stretch under load) rates that are chosen by the OEM as part of the restraints system development to work in harmony with the various airbags (which are also tuned ) to minimise injury to the occupants in a crash, and achieve the required injury criteria.
Just make sure that the percentage extension of the replacement webbing is the same as the webbing on the original restraint.

Not too bad. Took about an hour and a bit to get out, would be quicker now as I know what I'm doing. Some say you need to remove the seat but I managed to do it without.I would recommend removing the upper trim as well as the lower as it makes it much easier to access and refit the aluminium seatbelt loop thingy.
