I have 22mm wheel nuts on my 2007 DB9 - all are fine except for one which is slightly swollen. I can remove this with my 23mm socket but I'd prefer to get a replacement 22mm nut. Unfortunately these are out of production (replaced by 21mm nuts which are torqued considerably higher).

Does anyone have a 22mm wheel nut that's surplus to requirements that they could sell me (I'm in the UK)?

TIA

Might be worth trying Vantage Engineering. I bought a few used nuts from them last year.

There are a number of outlets online. Google is your friend or there is a set of five on eBay.

I had the same issue with two nuts, I did not want to change to 21mm nuts so I bought a special double ended socket, 22mm & 22.5mm designed to deal with this exact issue, I then soaked all the nuts in a cup of ACF 50 for 24hrs, one of the offending nuts shrunk back to 22mm and the other is also slowly improving.

Thanks but I'm not looking to spend £100 for 5 nuts. I'll probably just keep using my 23mm socket for the "rogue" one smile

Why would 21mm nuts have a higher torque than 22mm nuts when the mating threads are an identical size?

Smaller head diameter would be my guess. But it wouldn't explain 'considerably higher'. Different kind of steel maybe?

Hi and thanks for the offer which I'd like to take you up on. I have tried to send you a message but when I click on your "email me" link I just get a message which says

"Oops... Sorry - the recipient doesn't permit emails."

Could you email me please?

On your "Edit Profile" tab there's a check box to allow other members to email you. Maybe this needs to be checked? Cheers.
