Electrical mouse damage to 2013 DB9
Discussion
Hello all,
While on vacation last year, a single mouse got into our garage and had a go at the wiring in my 2013 DB9 US left hand drive.
The rodent issue has been solved.
What I need is a reasonably knowledgeable individual to tell me what the severed wire does.
I started the car after our trip and smelled burning.
The wiring affected is next to the firewall on the passenger side.
I've repaired all the sound dampening material and the passenger side wheel arch liner which was all chewed up.
There is one OBDII fault that is being triggered but want to see if an expert can look at the pictures and diagnose before I lead the witness.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks so much
Paul

Tricky to tell from your pictures. I've marked one of yours up to try to understand.

) which is consistent with the colour convention for earth wires.
- Was the end of the wire I've marked as "1" once attached to the end I've marked as "2"?
- And is end "2" part of the wire that terminates at "3"?

That s very helpful. Thank you. Yes, I believe that you are correct that they are ground wires. I don t know if they were connected though.
If you've got just two cut wire ends in an area it's a reasonable assumption that they were once joined. The only thing that confused me is it appears from your pictures that 2-3 inches of wire might be completely missing between the two ends - unless they just pulled apart after they were severed and you can easily pull them back together again (I assume it would be end "1" that would move)Forums | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

the little bugger is in mouse heaven now. He had to go so that the Aston Martin may live.
