That does seem a very small amount of money, in the legal world.

Having become accustomed to selling a £15 Ford component for £300, AML must have thought the invoice had a few naughts missing and therefore paid the amount asked for immediately. -

Indeed. I have no legal qualifications but I found the judgement interesting, just seeing how the judge goes about evaluating the case.

As far as I can see this Geely trade mark is not in use in the UK, so it is sensible to firstly try for registration to flush out objections. Better this than to meet an infringement action after commencing use. I'm not surprised at the result - wings are a common feature as illustrated in the decision. I doubt an appeal will succeed.
