the headlight washers on my 2010 V8 Vantage have started to randomly trigger when the car is parked. i washed it, dried it then the headlight washers kicked in and soaked it! The car was unlocked with the key in my pocket. I thought it was "one of those things", rinsed it off and dried it, then the same thing happened again, about 30 mins apart! each time the washers ran for about 20 seconds. this happened once more then I pulled the fuse!!
I've been nice to the car, so I don't think its being spiteful. Any thoughts?

Quite a bizarre one. I'd be suspecting water ingress affecting something

I would also suspect that this is a ground connection issue.

This could be the case if there is voltage at the pump, which it is grounded when the lever is pressed. The connection might than not be separated.

Classic water ingress in the washer control module. Lives near the washer bottle, gets wet, goes mad.
Common on V8Vs. Check module behind front bumper passenger side. Sometimes drying it out works. Otherwise new module or just leave the fuse out.

thanks for the help so far. is the control module separate to the headlight washer pump or is it all one item? i can find a schematic but it only shows a pump?
