Would anyone be able to advise how many Vanquish S series 1 were australian delivered?
I have an interest in maybe buying one and a dealer has told me some porky pies that he had the only one, when i did a vin check his advertised Vanquish "S" 2005 turned out to be a 2003 Vanquish standard with S badge..

Dealer's talking rubbish. Official number for Series 1 Vanquish S to Australia is 11 cars. Not many but definitely not one.

Yours is a standard car with badges. Walk away.

Check with Aston Martin Australia directly or the owners club. They'll give you the real build sheet by VIN.

Many thanks, I noted after I placed a complaint with our major Carsales.com.au web site that the advert was finally changed however is still advertised as an 05.
And the dealer says that is when the compliance plate was issued. I know that is a lie as it was imported in 2011 so any plate would relate to build date or date of import. He says he bought it thinking it was an S.
There is no way I would entertain buying from this rogue.

I've seen a couple listed on carsales over the past couple of years and couldn't understand why they held their price so well even in the overpriced Australian market, but looking at those delivery numbers it is now obvious. Seems like the dealer has been had over as well, or trying to pull a fast one.

On a side note - I've been trying to find Australia delivery numbers for the original Rapide as they seem pretty scarce compared to same age DB9 and Vantages if anyone can advise.

My surprise was that New Zealand had quite a high number nearly as many

In my recent searches I did look into personal importing from the UK as the price to age ratio was far better. However, things are quite restricted here. In general unless it is a speciality vehicle and not sold here such as Valkyrie, Speedster, or over 25 years old it is not possible to import, so this excludes all the VH onwards cars at present. For some reason the Vanquish 2 Volante & Vantage V12S are allowed.....maybe never sold here??? I guess the Vanquish 1 is due to be approved as now hitting 25 years old, but it isn't on the SEVS list yet so you would probably have to jump through all the hoops to get it approved as well.

With that in mind it does affect the market here. I recently bought a Rapide locally and for the money I spent on it I could have potentially got a 2014/15 S or DB9-2 from the UK. Shipping is quite cheap, or was when I took my Audi S3 to the UK for a couple of years (long story), but got murdered on sale price in the UK as buyers couldn't get their head around the car being from Australia.

I never looked into or thought of getting one from across the ditch (NZ) which has been mentioned above.
