Hi,

My DB9 boot wont lock, icloses ok but the locking mechanism wont operate. If I operate the mechanism closed by pushing a screw drive down to close it the mechanism operates no problem, eg opens if I either open the boot with the key fob or the handle on the boot, all seems to be working ok but when i shut the boot it wont lock into position closeing the boot.?

Anyone had this problem or know the solution?

Cheers

The boot lock is straight off a Volvo and isn't really designed for the DB9.

It can come out of alignment. Take the boot lock and push it upwards/towards the car. Thats the lock on the car itself, the receiving end if you will not the part on the tailgate.

I had to change my boot latch as it kept sending message "boot open" while it was securely locked,it is indeed a Volvo part, but much cheaper from AM!!!! Only paid 34.58£ + Vat for it,it is a 10mm job to change it.

I've never seen one that cheap. Where did you get it from direct from AM?

Reviving this again.

Has anyone used a Volvo replacement part for the DB9 2005 boot lock?

If so what Volvo number did you use?

Volvo part numbers 31335047, 30799474, or 30799472.

Cheers

Hi Mike I would get the genuine AM one

I changed mine a few years ago, very easy and you know a genuine one will fit.

It's £57 plus vat and postage so quite cheap.
