Has anyone had this in 2025?!

Failed them after 22 years, no degradation etc, just new regulations and sizing, done it it under duress but seems pathetic. Still kept the same square side plate at the front and it's now passed.. what?

What was the reason for failure written on the sheet?

He's right though. Was that ever technically legal? It looks off from the eye which is why I imagine he reached for the ruler.

I thought you were going to say there was an issue with JDM sized plates.

I think technically you can only get away with JDM style plates if a UK plate won't physically fit into the plate recess on the car.

Was it a different MOT garage to what you have used before? Maybe a blind eye has been turned in the past?

Or do MOT garages now have to take a photograph of the car they are testing, in an effort for the DVSA trying to clamp down on some of the 'ghost' MOT tests that go on? In a circumstance such as this it would be an obvious item that should have been highlighted if anyone was to ever look at the image.

I’m not buying that’s a dealer plate…looks like the dealer details have been added with a labelling machine. Can’t imagine any dealer would do that

Looks like the dealer added some bling to it with the outline anyways...weird that the plate does not fit in the holder too, its a UK car and not an import?

The original plate wasn’t legal obviously but I must admit I didn’t realise that was an MOT check

Just dug out a pic of my old one, different dealer but same font! Never noticed at the time tbh.
