Mk1 MR2 flickery headlights at 40+

Hi people - I have a slightly weird problem... it appears that my headlamps flicker when I travel above 40mph or so... has anyone encountered a problem like this before... could it be an earthing issue?

You sure it is flickering? Could the actual headlight unit be shaking at speed? Mine used to do it in my mk2. Has to tighten all the bits up.

Yeah the headlamp in my old Mk1 used to shake in it's housing due to a corroded support. A couple of cable-ties sorted it.

Hmm - didn't think of that - shall go an inspect now...!!!

Hehe - cheers guys... drivers side headlamp retaining spring had rusted through... one cable tie later, problem solved...!!!
