new scooby clutch

iam just having a new clutch fitted to my P1 and iam woundering if any of you know how long iam supposed to run it in for,thanks.

Not quite the same car but when I had the clutch done on my old '90 Legacy I was told to be gentle with it for the first 1000km (~600 miles) and then take it in for a check and re-adjust if needed.

By being gentle with it running in I don't mean drive like an absolute granny, but no hard launches, no riding the clutch, no towing, etc, and just being as generally smooth and nice with it as you can.

Bah - Drive it like you stole it. It's the only way. Hasn't done mine any harm - old girl seems to revel in it

You think so? Maybe - I have the uprated clutch in mine which was grabby as hell for the first 2000 or so miles but has mellowed in its old age.

when I got mine replaced it was with a heavier-duty Exedy one, was a bit grabby at first but not for long, and after running in gently was much much nicer than the original in every way. Stronger, smoother, less inclined to slip,smell etc when giving it a thrashing.

As per the guys above experinces. Mine is an uprated AP organic. It was like a switch for the first coupleof hundred miles and now it's as smooth as a well sanded smooth thing covered in smooth. Wait 'till it feels good then go for it.

A clutch doesnt need running in at all! After approx 50-70 miles it will bedded in fine.
