Any views / reviews? They seem to be advertised above list price at the moment - Top Marques, etc!

Currently got one. Great on twisty B roads not so good on motorways. Thinking of changing for a M5 (E39) - had one a couple of years ago, but won't buy a black one - great when polished, but hard work!

Why are you asking for a review of a car you already own ?

I cannot believe you've just bought an RB320 and now you want to change it for an M5 rofl

Motorways are boring, and surely you would only buy the RB320 if you wanted something that would outgun anything else on small A and B country roads. It's not a motorway car and isn't sold as such, also it has no special toys and Gizmo's....it's a proper drivers car with beefy suspension, grips like a leach and has a powerful bullet proof engine that will outlast most others, including the M5, and it's noisy inside as well as out....

So why buy it in the first place!! confused

Sounds to me like you only bought it for curiosity value and want a quick buck after seeing all those other RB320's snapped up by dealers and being sold well overprice...in which case you'd better sell it soon before you start to lose money long term...and you will if you keep hold of it!! scratchchin

You'll probably put the proceeds to one of those plush and boring M5's. What a waste!! rolleyes

Keep the RB320....or give it to one of us ScoobyLovers that will love and cherish it for ever!!! cloud9 hehe

I change my cars regularly - hence a piston head!- without losing too much on them.Just a hobby car really. Sorry if that upsets Scooby doers.

Yes, getting older. No complaints - great B road car, track days, etc.Didn't buy it for the bucks, but I believe in the free market (not very PC but I don't read the Guardian!!).

Anyway, if it's your own money and free will and all that... rock on.

They seem to be a great car like all limited Imprezas but also a bit of a sales toy too.

When you buy a special edition you expect all the special bits to be included in the price, but extra for the RB seats the fancy wheels and a few other little bits i cant recall is just rediculous! Subaru were taking the pi$$ with that one especially since it was in memory of Richard Burns, shame on Subaru for trying to make an extra couple of quid on this one.cry

Did you get all the extras on yours? It will be worth a lot more if you did.

Got the extras but not the tint glass (Bit chav?).

There is a Richard Burns Foundation - see www.imprezarb320.co.uk. Maybe marketing spin, but I think Subaru are genuine on this one.

320 has been quoted as the best road going Impreza to date.Ordered it BEFORE any reviews. Seen the "experts" opinions, but interested in any personal experiences of car / dealers.

I sold a P1 that I'd had from new to buy the 320, and I don't regret it. The P1 had the edge on direction changes (lighter), but the 320 has it licked everywhere else.

Trackday on Saturday, will report further after that biggrin

Bedford Autodrome is a great track, especially if you get to do the whole circuit. Very smooth indeed and some nice high speed bits like the 1 and a bit km straight, great sweepers too.

Plenty of room to go off at the end of the long straight if you overcook it....like i did (at 130mph) hehe

Definitely had fun! I was at Croft (great circuit apart from the hairpin at the end of the lap) with BaT. First session was a disappointment (compared to my race car, even an RB320 feels like a barge on track!) but satisfaction increased as the day went on.

Negatives:
it feels heavy to throw around (yet another comparison, I suppose, as the P1 was more nimble);
it doesn't feel like it has 320 horses;
seats are not supportive enough, even using a CG Lock;
it has a major drink problem!

Positives:
traction out of bends with the centre diff set to max rear was awesome;
balance likewise;
shrugged off the rain that dampened the track for the last session, whilst the caterfields and lotuses (loti?!) that had been running rings round me for most of the day took to the scenery;
the brakes;
tyre wear was not bad (4psi up on road pressure), especialy compared to the P1, which trashed the tyres cos of understeer;
whilst I said it didn't feel as though it has 320 brake, it was still doing 115/120 at the end of the start/finish straight.

Overall, very impressed (imprezzed?). It is a bit too heavy, but for a road car that will only do occassional track days, I'm happy.

Oh, one more negative - I can't drive it like Petter Solberg does!

Were you there on Sunday ?
In the Red RB 320 ?
If so it looked amazingly quick down the pit straight, sounds fantastic.
We were there in a Yellow Pug 205 in group 2 which was a good laugh (mostly). Not quick enough on the straights, don't think we got above 110 down the back straight to the hair pin right, but around the twisties we're reasonably quick.

Plagued by wierd problems in the afternoon (wet) that lowered out limiter to 5800 from 8000, still it was wet and to be honest it was prob. for the better not being on cam in the wet !

Cheers

Mark
