dunno anything about them other than they are supposed to be bonkers (in a nice way) and tuneable.

go for the starlet, there great crack and there is some very cheap ones about. stick with the toyotagtturbo.com, it a great wee forum, every one friendly and there a helpful bunch.
i don't know who told you there not reliable, but provided there well looked after and you let them warm up there bulletproof, not like the likes of the gearbox braking pulser's.
parts can be dear if you don't know were to look, once again the best deals can be found on toyotagttubo.comcom
insurance wise there around group 13 so that not to bad.
the likes of 2 to 3 grand would double the power if not more.
30mpg is easily achievable and since there only a 1.3 there cheap to tax.
not really any thing in particulate to look out for, just the usual with a turbo car and thats mainly smoke. they only really came in black or white. and there was a face lift in 94, quad light model.
i don't know if you know but have you thought about a glanza, same car but glanzaewer body. they were made up to 99 but you will not got any over 96 due to the sva rules.

yeah i was reffering to the Renault.. but ive had a mooch around for starlet and the Glanza...and ive seen a couple...they are over the £3K barrier which is more than i'd expect for and older car..
i do like them..i was tempted to view one today but instead looked at a Clio 172.. im torn!!! i just dont want to regret buying a car and wished i had another..
the only reason im lookin is mine is too thirsty so a GTI-R would be very similar to mine

nobody knows what a Lancia Delta is????
One of the greatest rally cars ever....where have they been? maybe its cos I am old and anyone under 35 has probably never seen a Lancia after they quit the uk in 94.
Most people don't know a 200sx, but thats cos they were expensive for a datsun so there aren't many of them had a pipe and slipper image, and over shadowed by the inferior Calibra and VW Corrado.
Its great when you give M3's and Audi 'S's a run for their money with yer 10 year old datsun.
I'd go for the Starlet for sleeper value. Clio's are common in comparison (but still great)

I'm 22 and know just what a Lancia is...I'm a car nerd with too much spare time and a minor obsession with rallying though.I know everyone knows what a Lancia Delta is, but do you know what a 1999 HPE HF looks like without checkin the web...!! with only 6 or 7 in the country!!! they werent rallied... and never sold over here and very few imported hence the limited amount in the uk!!
so,...most folk when seeing my car have no clue as to what it is until they see the badge!!

I see what you mean, it is a bit different -
I actually thought it was a SEAT at first glance.
