Carparts-direct launches new grey import parts service
Carparts-direct is launching a new service for owners of grey imports. It claims a new distribution network means that owners can have their (car) parts delivered directly to their front door within 48 hours.
There are 5 million parts stored in the UK for virtually every make and model of Japanese or Korean vehicle.
Motorists simply provide their vehicle registration number and the Car Parts Direct computer system links to the DVLA information database to ensure the correct spares are dispatched.
Mark Cornwall of carparts-direct.co.uk said, “It’s a service we’ve provided for owners of European manufactured vehicles for many years; now owners of Japanese vehicles can expect the same level of service.”
Most of the parts are made in exactly the same factory as supplied by the dealers in Japan or Korea. Car Parts Direct has catalogues on its website and specialist staff to handle online and phone enquiries. Call 0871 918 1800 or visit:

Could prove quite handy for some I guess, to someone like me who's been around grey imports for some time now, it just seems like a middleman for the sake of having one, but I'm willing to give them a try sometime should I need to.
Though I have to say, the fact it's linked to the DVLA seems wholly irrelevant if not off putting, on the basis that there's so much ambiguity in registering imports, GTST skylines getting GTR registration on the V5 etc, they're not the most adept nor fluent in dealing with imports.
Curious to see what their prices are like..
