I seem to be having problems round right hand bends with my MR2. If I go round a left hander, all is fine, I can take it at speed and it all feels very stable, but if I go round a right hander then the car yaws and twitches all over the places. feels like its startes going into understeer, then oversteer, then understeer, then..... until I come out of the corner, but it never actually loses grip. Feels very weird. Sometimes makes a clunk when it first starts twitching, then a clunk when I straighten up.

Any ideas what may be causing this really strange sensation? And why it only does it round right hand bends and not left hand ones????

Cheers
Jon

I know someone with an MR2 that does the same, it's known to have a duff front top mount on one side which probably doesn't help and it needs the alignment sorting too. The top mount clunks at low speed, but never noticed it while going more quickly.

Both should be fixed shortly, so hopefully I'll know which one it was then!

I'd guess at a broken spring unless you've crashed recently...

Never been crashed, and just changed the front track rod and end, still does the same. What do you mean by the Geo?

Just had new tyres front and rear. Will have to check the shockers. I would have thought that if it were something like that it would do it in a straight line or round left hand bends too.

Don't count on that for anything!

I've seen some absolute wrecks pass MOT. (no Russ - not my tubby! smile )

Geo is geometery - there's a host of variables you can setup in the MR2 suspension and as it's mid-engined you'll really feel it if they're not right.

Hop onto www.mr2oc.co.uk or www.imoc.co.uk - there's a few guys on there that are religious about their geo setups. Stick a post up and ask what's local to you. If the geo setup doesn't fix it I'll bet they can tell you what the problem is.
