My old man is thinking of swapping his mint E36 Alpina B3 in for one of these, he's looking at spending about £20k on one, it'll be a coupe, anything to look out for on them, can't say I'm that keen, but the plus side is I'll be in the running to snap up his B3 and he's only really taken on the Orange colour.
So any spec that is a must have, any recalls, or any mechanical issues that have raised their head so yet?

This is a good place to start: http://www.350z-uk.com/
I would got for a non import GT spec for that money (leather, bose, cruise). A private sale 05 plate would be around £20k.
Mechanical issues include:
- Feathering of the front tyres on earlier models (fixed by dealer adjustment)
- Clicking rear axle.
- CD player skips
- Windows dont rise the few mm needed to seal after doors opened
- There have been reports of gearbox and engine failures (Autocar had 2 replacement engines in theirs), but I think these are rare.
- Paint is prone to chips.
I've had mine since February and have not had any problems other than faulty reversing sensors and a creaking drivers seat. Fuel consumption averages 23mpg.

As the poster above mentioned there are a few issues with the car when it initially came out, most of these have been picked up and fixed under warranty.
I would suggest having a look in the For Sale area on the www.350zukownersclub.com site as well.
A list of things to watch out for can be found in the general area of the site as well.

The Birdseye Sat nav is a waste of money in my opinion, far better 3rd party options out there which are much cheaper and more user friendly.
I have used both the Garmin Nuvi 360 and 660 in the car, the 360 fits nicely by your left knee for easy use and viewing.
Should be picking Z #2 up in September, the waiting is killing me.
