ok so after the attempted theft of my fto i have relised how much i love the car and i am finaly going to get round to doing it up and spending the money on it that it deserves.
just brought a new mongoose exhaust and plan on some new side skirts ( maybe even front and back bumper and full respray)..

but im stuck..... when those nice litte swansea boys decided to break into the car they smashed the driver side door lock/handle. i dont fancy having to change all the locks and ignition so i was considering gettngg rid of the handles and locks all together and fitting a popper kit. iv seen them on a couple of cars and think there cool. but i dont know anything about them. has anyone had any dealings with them and know what makes/company are the best to use?

did consider selling the car and gettin a 3 series but after thinking about it i just love the fto to much. ok its not the fastest car in the world and the insurance is stupid money but im not ready to part with it just yet. biggrin

Only prob is when the battery goes flat, then you're buggered!
you can get the locks 'made' to suite your key though, which would be my prefered route.

The Silver Slut had a flat battery last night. He's on about getting rid of her now. Wants a 350z...

While he's owned it you mean? Probably a couple of k. He drives it to his parents place a couple of times a month, that's about all. Spent a fortune on it mind. Recon gearbox, all new air con system, rear subframe was rusty so had that done at japco. Pound per mile it'd probably have been cheaper to rent supercars...

The MR is absolutely fine, unless you want to talk about blown headgaskets and lapsed MOTs...

Such as the MR2 in your profile pic? smile

Regarding mine; As I sit here now I cannot name a single system on the car which has never had a problem. I mean that literally. Not one!

The only reason I still own it is I have an exam this week, a potentially career-defining one. I've been working madly on it since before the HG went and haven't had time to do anythin with the '2. Would really like to keep tinkering with it and try to get it going - I enjoy driving it that much - but the time has come to say a long overdue goodbye.

As for me - I just need to decide how to get rid of the carcass and how to replace it.

To the OP. Um... Sorry! Epic thread hijack! Got any pics of the car to get us back on track? smile
