I've done something I thought I'd never do.

I've sold it.

She's gone.

No celica for the first time in about ten years, and I ran that ST205 for almost seven of them.

You know the car you always wish you'd never sold? That may well have been mine. It was, and still is a bloody good car. I've not driven much that turns in with that much confidence and can fire you down the road with that much authority.

I've done half a bottle of single malt since 5pm yesterday, and I suspect most of the rest is going tonight.

Still, we must move on. So I shall wish the new custodian the very best, and if they ruin it I shall hunt them down with dogs and a crossbow.

Project lightweight will commence when I've sobered up and have found the correct toy to replace a properly sorted fast road 4wd missile. This may be a tough act to follow.

(In other news, the Alfa passed 120K this afternoon, so I'm concerned project lightweight may morph into project "new barge" at some point).

120k is nothing! Our MX5 is on 191k!

The MX5 is Japanese and built correctly.

The Alfa isn't and isn't....

Hush your nonsense, 120K is fine, she still pulls well and is comfortable over 4 hours of pointless driving (we had a BAD traffic day today).

The fact the GT4 had done about 100 (if you're lucky) miles in the past year, and most of the SW Pistonheaders don't believe she existed, meant she really needed to be sold...

Let the tyre kicking commence on a replacement!

A year and a half after getting rid of my GT4 I still miss it, best all round car I've had I reckon.

Wow E. You sold her? Damn. Didn't think that would happen!

Lets just hope Mani looks after the car. He has been craving one for a while now.

Nope... he said road car. The MkI, and the MkIII are either too lacking in comfort, or nigh on impractical. The MKII is, in my opinion, a great mix of GT, and racer.

Mk 1.5? Am I missing something? Is it a Mk1 with the Mk2 Rev3 engine in?

exactly. most people go for either the rev3 turbo engine, or a Camry V6 (sometimes called a mk 1.6)

260bhp (well, you need to get rid of the cats anyway....) in a car that weighs dead on 1000kg is quite a combination.

I'm in my tenth year of MR2 ownership(P-reg T-Bar), and will carry on till it falls to bits. I've just done 121,000 miles and it has a full service history.
