Anybody on here own an 05 - 06 plate of the above vehicle? If so, Parkers guide states this particular year is tax band K, £215 for the year! 06 onwards £405.
Can anyone confirm this? Im contemplating purchasing one of these cars, I'll look for an earlier example if K band is correct........

You can get an 06 plate but it needs to have been registered before the 23rd of March 2006. On the 23rd all cars with emissions over 225 were banded into band G, my wrx puts out 244 so I should imagine the STI is higher.
There was talk that all cars that have emission data on the V5 (so anything 51 plate onwards) will be split into the new 13 bands which would be good for the ones at the lower end of the scale but very bad for the higher cars. This has been put on hold or completely scrapped for now but there is a chance that it will be coming into force in the future but who knows.

My personal opinion is to go for a early 05 Bloyeye (2.0 Turbo) and not the 2.5... The engine is capable of 400Bhp with no changes to the internals.. The 2.5 has better Torque but the 2.0 is more capable when tuned.
All depends what you want really.. A local tuner has a 03 Plate Sti running over 500Bhp on standard internals.. was previously running 400Bhp reliably for over 18 months with no issues.

( Wotcha Steve, longtime no speak! )
I would also go for the Blobeye. I had a JDM version running a reliable 400/415ibs for four years on standard internals. I never even had to change the clutch to handle it.
I did have to change the suspension though, to get to use all of it on the road..

It has been a long time...... I am on the lookout for a 05 plate Sti now!!!!! but must be white I have not had the scoob for over 12 months now and missing the fix!!I would also go for the Blobeye.
