i have a 97 gt-b and am wanting to do several things, i wondered if anyone could give me some advice, tips.

1 - De-restrict it.

2 - Do an engine remap to give it a little more power.

3 - Change the brakes as the standard ones are a little sluggish to say the least.

If your Legacy is the BG5 version (96-98) rather than the BH5 (98-00) then you can't have it remapped... The 4G EMU can't be flashed at all. - Come over to UKLegacy.com and there's a few discussions on the matter. Basically the only options are a SimTek ECU piggyback with the stock ECU controlling turbo transition. This is being discussed and planned with Bob Rawle Developments, but there's nothing available to buy yet. Otherwise it's a case of sending your ECU, specs, modifications and £600 to Japan and Mine's will return your ECU with a daughterboard soldered in.

Derestricting is as simple as converting from KM/H to MPH using one of the 4-wire KBTV or similar convertors. - The restriction will still be there, just at 180mph.

4 pot front brakes off any Impreza will bolt straight on, rears can't be bolted on unless you change the hubs and everything else too. GTB already has the bigger 294mm rotors. - Biggest and best difference you can make is flush fresh fluid through into braided hoses. (Same as Impreza GC8 4 line kit.)

I'm pretty sure when we did the Plug and play Solaris boards we set some of them up so they would work with the Legacy GTB, Certainly with the 99/00 cars, but maybe for the 96/98's a well. I'll check with one of my techies.

Mine runs a GP board and loom adaptor because it was done before we had the PnP boards made.
