What coolant for impreza Sti?
Discussion
Have had a search on the net and can't find a definitive answer for what coolant to put in the impreza (2003). Some places on the net say only use Subarus own, it has special magical properties (or something similar), other places say you can use any modern coolant?
Went to SGT today - Subaru dealer - and they use regular Shell collant, as seen at your local petrol station. Am I OK to mix different colours/brands or better off emptying and refilling with an easily available brand? The stuff in there at the moment is green.
Thanks
simon

I read about the "magical properties" of the Subaru coolant. They are supposedly there to protect the Aluminium rad...
....then I thought cobblers, of course Subaru want to sell you there "special" coolant...
Like anything "for best results buy more of our stuff".....
Saying that I would not buy the cheapest coolant but rather a recognised brand atleast...

I wouldn't mix different colours as some are supposed to react when mixed how true that is remains to be seen it was just something one of the guys at halfords mentioned when i bought some for my other car!!
