My mate is thinking of purchasing this......I know it is not to a lot of peoples taste, but do you feel price is fair? How can you tell if it genuinly is a WRX STI?

V8's are my thing but I said I would ask fellow PH's. Please don't flame his choice of car, but would appreciate genuine feedback..

You should ask on scoobynet.co.uk.

Mind you - there will be some merciless comments on that car - but you should get some sensible answers wink.

Red top engine only from Ver.3 onwards IIRC, and ad says it has HKS suspension (which is "really hard" hehe ).

It really is a disgustingly molested car though, truly vile. Possibly even verging on heinous.

That is uglier than an ugly thing! I'm guessing your mate lives near (or would be willing to travel to) Coventry? How about this thing instead?

As already mentioned have a look on Scoobynet - there used to be a list of engine codes to check against which is very useful when someone has a WRX with STI badges on it!!

It looks like some poor child has been made to drive around in that thing - Poor little thing it will grow up with a complex!

Saying that it would easily fetch more than "£20k" at a show rofl

Ben,
Your memory is good. Its the ver 1.5 engine.

Its basically a £2000 boggo 260bhp (Ver 1.0 engine) STI with the body kit slapped on and nicer seats.

It don't float my boat though.

First red tops were in the 555 sti. Which i think is a ver 2 is it not?
