I think the general consensus is unless you're chasing some big power, then a panel filter in the stock airbox is your best bet. If you're also after a bit more noise, then theres a guide up on scoobynet.com for removing part of the airbox to get more induction noise.

An induction kit without a sealed cold air intake is just going to suck in hot air and crap from the engine bay.

Green cotton air filter. Needs cleaning every 6 months or so but that's it. Nice noise too...

There's no point in replacing one scoop with another identical one just because it's made of carbon fibre. It looks nice but that's about it.

If you cut the rubber strip that restricts air to the plastic snorkel/scoop at the front of your bonnet and keep the standard airbox fitted with a high flow panel filter as has been suggested and do the Snorkus Delete modification it will flow more than enough air to satisfiy well over 400 ponies.

Induction kits and FMIC's make more sense on older classic scoobs where fitting a top mount is as much work as fitting a front mount, but on the newage STi the TMIC does a cracking good job.

If you do some proper mods on the exhaust side and treat your P&J to a remap you can look forward to releasing 350bhp/lbft.
