celica 190 too aTeg DC2
Discussion
Anyone done it can pass on any experiences?
Is it really all that much quicker and better handling?
Or should i not bother and change direction totally.
Main reason im looking at changing is i could probably do a straight swap with the celica and im bored of it.

I think you will find it a very different drive mainly down to the VTEC = economy for 80% of the rev range but an animal for 20%
You have to drive them hard to get decent performance from what I've heard.
the 190 engine in the Celica has VVT-Li which is a very similar type to the i-VTEC, in tat it's a normal car from tickover to 6800 rpm, but engine note and performance significantly changes 6800-8200..You have to drive them hard to get decent performance from what I've heard.
i've never driven one, but i believe the integra is a much better handling car, not that i complained at the Celica, but similar performance and better handling cant be bad...

I've driven both, owned the teg. The teg has a wider powerband too (5800-9000) so is a lot easier to keep on cam than the 190. Much better gearbox too, better ratios and much better feel. The itr is definitely a step up in driving experience for me.

The ITR does feel a generation older inside though, so in some ways it'll be a step-backwards...
