Has anyone on here tried to fit a 'chip' to one of these engines? The plug on the fuel rail is difficult to get at, wondered how it's reached?

A proper Ecutek remap for the TDI is being worked on, will be flashed through the OBD2 port so no need to feck with the rails

Presumably, the car will have to be at the tuner's premises to do this, which is difficult for me as I'm in France! Any idea of likely cost?

As it happens, I'm in the process of deliberating over an Impreza Diseasel and am told that the 4-pot ships from the factory with 180bhp but is detuned to 150bhp for the European market (for both emmissions and marketing reasons). I know they're available from the dealer network with 180bhp as I borrowed one to try out earlier this week.......Worth having a quite word with your local Scooby dealer methinks.
