350Z Roadster - Roof Won't Go Up!

Long shot this one.. The bread knife took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and dropped her top, sadly it won't now go back up! The rear roof section does not drop low enough (by about a foot) to click onto the rear deck. Anyone had this problem?? It's gone into a local garage and they are scratching their heads. Thanks, Jon

That sounds like a loose connection on a microswitch somewhere in the hood or on the switch that tells it that the rear deck is shut....

Yep, had this problem about 3 times now, so far it has only happened in the Winter when the car is cold and you want to get some Winter sun. The roof won't fully collapse.. I blamed it on the cold weather and so did the Nissan dealer. Once the sun shone and the roof warmed up there was no problem. Alternatively, I was told to pour warm tap water over the back of the hood to help the straps stretch on a cold day.

Touch wood haven't had the problem since..

The roof won't fully collapse if the rear heated screen is on too..
