Lexus engine swap
Discussion
Evening all.
Just a thought going through my head earlier, If you wanted to get more from a Lexus IS250, And decided and engine swap was the way forward, what would you put in it?
In the US, they have the IS350, which has a 3.5 litre v6. Would putting the engine from a Nissan 350 work (other than the trickiness that is often caused with engine swaps)? What other ideas are there?
This is more for a bit of fun than a serious idea, so if you can think of engines you'd like to put into different cars, mention them too. Eg RB26 into a 200SX or whatever

The Japanese Lexus IS (1st generation) can be had with a 3S-GE BEAMS engine. Its a pretty easy swap to a 3S-GTE engine as the gearbox etc already matches.
Its not fitting the engine, its getting it to match to the transmission and the rest that is a pain.
In America quite a few first gen IS were converted to 1JZ and 2JZ Supra engines - perhaps the 2.0L six is fitted in a similar way?

That's the problem, matching it all up. I hear there's a drift car fitted with the 2JZ engine from a Supra which looks pretty interesting. I can't seem to find much info on the actual swap though, just the end results.
The older Lexus' are what got me thinking about this after someone mentioned modding the news ones to be a lot more difficult for numerous reasons so i just wondered if anyone else knew much about swapping engines or massive power gains that some people used to get from the older lexus'

First gen supra conversion is a little easy than the 2zjte lump mainly as the initial cost is a lot lower. Mild work will net you around 350-375bhp with a nice punch mid range.
Ill get in touch with my cousin who has carried this out on his is200, I'm pretty sure its well documented on the owners forum.

Matt
