Help, Mitsubushi evo 8... import disadvantages??

Hi any advice would be great on this. Just about to buy an imported evo 8 gsr. been hearing alot of horror stories or is this just people trying to put me off. Heard the cars radio might not work and top speed could be limited. like i said any advice would realy help

The radio will work, but the stations will be 'off'. They are limited, but you can get that sorted when you get any SVA work done.

Just replace the radio with a UK one and the car will be limited to 112 mph due to Japanese Law. This can be removed however.

Hi, I have an import E8, it won't be undersealed and it won't have an alarm, or rear foglight unless it's been previously owned in the U.K., in which case this stuff may have been done. You'll need to look around for a decent insurance quote, although Pace Ward have just come up trumps for mine. Other than what's already been mentioned, it's very much the same as a U.K. car. The dealers aren't sniffy about servicing them, and, in my experience, even when modified, they're extremely reliable.

I think the main issue is to be sure that what you're buying is what you think it is. There are some lower spec. Evo VIIIs that people have tried to pass off as all sorts of things, so you need to make sure it's actually a JDM GSR that you're buying.
