Evo 5/6 Buying - What to look for?
Discussion
Hi, seriously looking at buying a long-time favourite/want of mine, an Evo 5 or 6.
I've driven a couple in the past and know essentially what they're like in that respect, but i really don't know an awful lot about their upsides and downsides, possible age/mileage related failures & maintenance etc.
I'm a pretty competent spanner monkey so DIY jobs would be fine, but basically i really need to be brought up to speed so i know what i'm potentially looking out for when i go and have a look, so any pointers/info would be gratefully received!
Cheers, Baz.

Ahh thanks for that, i had come across it before, but for some reason totally forgot about it!
Anything else anyone has to add, fire away...
I'm opting towards a 5 tbh, i've always preferred the more aggressive styling and seem to be less common, probably due to the fact that 6's onwards were sold in the UK!

A standard car is usually very reliable, the only problem you'll find is that many have been modified.
Always try and go for the most recent car you can afford. An EVO5 is a better car than the EVO4, and EVO6 is a better car than and EVO5 etc. etc.
But obviously condition and previous owner will play a large part in the current state of that car.
