My Legacy has a badly corroded exhaust. I've had the current hole welded up but it's a temp job really. I need the section from the centre cat all the way back, which includes the Y-piece and the two back boxes (which are in OK condition but seem to be part of the y-piece).

I'd prefer to replace with stainless. In fact I'm surprised the OEM isn't. Any recommendations please?

Edited to add pips of welded-up joint (which has split again - there's not much solid metal left in this area), and one of the knackered back boxes.

In the end I bought an H&S centre section (lovely engineering) and a pair of Prodrive rear boxes, all in stainless steel. It's all fitted to the car now, and sounds absolutely fabulous (really bassy like an AMG Mercedes) but positioning/alignment needs tweaking.

Any ideas where in the Midlands I could take it please?

Left one needs rotating anti-clockwise a tad.

Right one is pointing downward a little, sticks out slightly further than the right one and is obviously too far to the left.

I'm going to pursue getting these bang-on because they are definitely worthwhile and will last for the life of the car.

Bang-on now, thanks to the guys at Hayward & Scott. Popped down there yesterday and they sorted it in minutes. A quick cut and weld (what an art TIG welding is), and a bit of pursuading the hangers to move here and there, and I have this:

I've taken a renewed pride in the car and actually washed it today too. smile
