bonnet slats + induction kit

the apexi filter is right underneath the offside bonnet slats could this be a problem in the rain ? ideally i would go for a cold air induction kit but the fmic pipeing prevents this should i go for a standard airbox and aftermarket panel jobby ?

Classic Impreza is my guess.

And yes, prob best to go to standard airbox and panel filter, or make a cover of sorts to protect the filter from the rain.
