I know it's good practice to replace cambelt tensioners, but on these I don't usually do so, as they are very well made and I normaly find them to be as good as new.
Check that the bearing isn't noisy and then slowly push the tensioner plunger back in a vice and then check that it fully extends itself when released, (it will extend slowly) and if it's o/k, push the plunger back again and lock it with a pin or allen key through the hole provided for this purpose before refitting.

depends which generation, the 140's i believe are all the last generation which are chain cam, the op's i believe is a 6 - which i'm not sure
