Just had a call from the garage servicing and MOTing my Mazda, the brake lines have been leaking, is this what has been causing about an inch or so of dead-travel at the top of the pedal?
Quite possibly. However, a leaky brake line would probably run out of fluid quite quickly too, and most cars have a brake fluid level warning light which will alert you of a leak after a short time.
Now is a good time to stick on some Goodridge hoses I guess.
Had them replaced, no difference what so ever. Oh well. I have no idea what hoses it has now, just the cheapest I expect, car's going up for sale soon anyway probably
