Hi All,

My normal haunt is in the VAG area of the forum, but my question today is Jap based. I’m looking at getting a new, more sporty car. The story behind is long, but the gist is, got an RS4 Cab, wife became pregnant, sold said RS4 and got a family car (A6), became a dad in Jan, wife got my A6, I got her little A2, now I NEED something with more power. I’ve been looking at the 350z and have seen one locally at a BARGIN price, but its done 100,000miles. One owner always serviced by Nissan, in good nic. So what are the thoughts is the 100,000miles a big no no, or is it worth it. I will have to keep the car for about 4 years, and it will be my main drive to and from work 15miles each way!

Thanks in advance,
Iain

There shouldn't really be much of a problem regarding the car has had FSH at more or less the correct times. The VQ35DE has been named in Wards best engines for ages (not sure how long though, but pretty sure for the last 10 years at least). With regards to knowing a friend who has a 350Z (currently at just over 91k miles), I'm not too sure on the oil recommendation on the high mileage cars as I haven't really asked him. Try the 350Z owners club, many of them have some high milers that are run daily.

As long as it's got FSH you will have no problems,my dad had a Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 with 215000 miles and it still drove fantastic and the guy that bought it has covered another 47000 still going strong,I have a Lexus 96 LS400 with 157000 never uses oil, water and could pass it off as an 80000 miler or less if you saw it and had a drive of it.

Consider the RX8, bargain prices and you can get the little one in the back.

Hi, thanks for the info guys and girls. I didn't get the 350 in the end, the advert was 'excellent condition' but when i got there it was parked under a tree, had cat prints all over it, and numerious scratches and digs...not really excellent. So the hunt goes on. Thanks again.
