Hi all,
Friend of mine has a 1997 Toyota Previa and has lost the keys. Toyota have told him they will have to re-set the ECU at a cost of £800. Surely as he has the reg. no and VIN no, he can get a set of keys without such extreme expense - does anyone have any knowledge of this please?
Cheers

I had a similar problem a few years back with an MR2. I was told by Toyota that they could supply up to 5 sets of keys for the car and as long as I hadn't lost all 5 sets it would cost me about 50 quid. If I had have lost all 5 sets then it was an ECU job and that was quite pricey.
