Yaris radio fault

Hi guys The wife has a 2002 Yaris. Its a 2002 model it really is a crackin little car just goes and goes.But the other day with the radio plating there was "white noise" you could still here the music but had to turn it up really loud the same thing when using the cd player. If the radio was turned off the noise was still there as soon as the key was turned to first click. I've taken the fuse out and all is silent but she likes her tunes any idea

Sounds like it could possily be an internal fault with the unit. Probably need to get someone to look at it really. They can be sent away for repair, but have no idea of the costs. Certainly wouldn't reccomend replacing the unit with another Toyota unit though as they are not very cheap.
